Recently, while grocery shopping, I walked by the flower shop and decided to buy myself a bouquet of pretty Spring flowers. I put them in a pretty vase and placed it on a tall wooden chest in my kitchen near where I do my crafting (yes, I am a kitchen table crafter).

The more I looked at the flowers, the more they reminded me of the Bouquet of Thanks stamp set, and I decided to play around with it. To be honest, large stamps have always given me somewhat of a challenge because I have a hard time deciding if I want to just stamp in one color or stamp in black and then color them in.

I came up with three very different designs – all with some kind of unique coloring or design.

The one on the left has a color wash of three colors in the background: Sweet Sorbet, Orchid Oasis and Pear Pizzaz, and then the flower image was stamped in black ink.

For the card in the middle, the flower image was stamped in black ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. The flower image was stamped again with black in on Basic White cardstock. One of the flowers was then colored with a Gorgeous Grape watercolor pencil (because there is no Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Blend), then blended with a Stampin’ Up! blender pen and mounted on Gorgeous Grape cardstock.

For the card on the right, the flower image was stamped with Melon Mambo ink on Basic White cardstock and die cut into three pieces using Stitched Rectangles Dies, then mounted on Melon Mambo cardstock.

If you’re challenged by large stamps as I am, I hope these cards will encourage you to dig them out and give them a new life with these designs. Here is a close-up thumbnail photo gallery.

In my video below, I wasn’t able to get to third card because the video was already long. So, click this link to download a pdf tutorial of all three projects.
